The Model T begins with a high quality tig-welded steel frameset. Unlike stock bicycles, the Model T is handbuilt here at TATI from the frame up. You can therefore customize every single component in order to build a personalized, perfect bicycle just for your riding style! The standard build kit eliminates the usual shortcuts found in most bikes in this price range, especially in the hidden-but-crucial areas of the headset, bottom bracket, and wheels. Every Model T is guaranteed to ride beautifully, look great, and perform to your exacting standards. I wouldn't build one any other way.
How does it compare with other bicycles. And is this a fixie?
First of all, the Model T can be technically built as a fixie. The standard build includes a fine pair of flip-flop hubs, which means that you can also run it as a freewheeling single speed. You might also opt for a three speed hub for a bit of versatility.
I welcome comparisons between the Model T and any off-the-shelf sub-$1000 bicycle of similar design. Because each Model T is built and designed especially for each rider, it is almost impossible to match its value. The Model T has a low bottom bracket and a short wheelbase, resulting in a very responsive and nimble ride. Many customers have swapped their Bianchi/KHS/Fuji/Jamis for a Model T only to fine what a properly designed and constructed bike really feels like!
How much does it cost?
The standard Model T is $600. This includes everything you need to ride except pedals.
What is the standard build kit?
Technically, everything! But in reality, we will focus on the basics, such as tire width, spoke lacing, handlebar type, grip tape, crank length, and gearing. Don't worry if you're not well versed in these areas, as every Model T comes with a fit session where many of these choices will become clear.
