And She's Off

• This week Hyde Parker Sophia Lee kicks off Bike & Build 2008 in Providence, RI. She'll be riding for a couple of months with a crew of a couple dozen fellow do-gooders to build affordable housing and see the country en route all the way to Seattle. Some of you might know Sophia from around the neighborhood, or as a formidable competitor for Illinois in the Women's B category. In fact, Araba and Liz spent the bulk of Monsters chasing down Sophia in the W4 race at Monsters.

  TATI sponsored Sophia by hooking her up with a few bits and baubles, and a few words of encouragement over winter break to keep up the training. I doubt that CRAFT winter base layer will get much use this summer, but hopefully is gave her the courage to work hard through the frigid months so that this whole cross country jaunt business would feel like a stroll along the lakefront.

  Yay, Sophia! Here's hoping that we can convince her to give a little talk about her exploits in August upon returning to Chicago. She's already a bit of an architecture and construction buff, so it would be nice to hear about both aspects of the program.
